Requirements of Order |
W/in 60 days of the execution of this Order, conduct a feasibility study focused on how the Respondent might implement changes to the Site's current solid waste handling procedures in order to minimize the likelihood of solid wastes decomposing on-site, or remaining on-site more than 24-hours; upon receiving written Division approval of the feasibility study summary and schedule, the Respondent will implement the corrective actions outlined in the approved Summary, according to the approved implementation/construction schedule; w/in 30 days of execution of this Order, develop and submit to the Division a written policy that will detail the following: how the Respondent will stage wastes for no more than 24 hours, how Respondent will ensure that all staged waste is fully confined and protected from the weather, how Respondent will clean-on a daily basis- the animal by-product and paunch waste staging area, the loading area, how Respondent will implement changes to the current blood handling process and containers in order to prevent any additional blood spillage events that result in blood reaching the state waters, how Respondent will ensure that all outbound loads of waste are not too wet so they can accepted at a Division approved solid waste handling facilities; w/in 90 days of this Order, the Respondent shall install BMPs to better manage industrial wastes to minimize entry to the stormwater pond; ensure the stormwater pond is adequately bermed to ensure the water will only exit through the single discharge pipe |
